Per the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act, action for actual damages in response to consumer fraud must be “commenced within 3 years after the cause of action accrued.” In cases where the Attorney General or State Attorney have brought action for a violation of the Consumer Fraud Act, the three-year statute of limitations will be “suspended during the pendency thereof, and for one year thereafter.”
