Keurig Remains Strong Despite Recalls, Class Action Case

Despite a class action lawsuit and various product recalls, Keurig Green Mountain single-handedly changed the coffee business with its one-cup coffee makers, which is a surprise to our Chicago consumer rights lawyers.

Our Chicago lawyers remember that not long ago, news headlines related to Keurig Green Mountain’s single-serve coffee makers and refillable K-cups focused on an antitrust class action lawsuit that alleged the manufacturer used unfair business practices to lock out competitors, as well as more than one U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission product recall because various Keurig coffee makers have caused burning or scalding.

Well it would appear that the Waterbury, Vermont-based coffee maker company is none-the-worse-for-wear as Reuters is reporting that Keurig almost singly-handedly changed the business landscape for American coffee companies.

The new study from Reuters, an international news service, deducted that Americans are spending more money to drink less coffee, and Keurig’s K-cups are a big reason why.

Coffee consumption is expected to fall this year for the first time in many years. Americans also are buying fewer coffee accessories, Reuters reports.

At the same time, the amount of money Americans spend on coffee is going up, and ownership of single-serve coffee makers also has swelled.

Consumers who remain concerned that they may be in possession of one of the recalled Keurig coffee makers are urged to call the company directly at 1-844-255-7886 to replace or repair their faulty machine.

But you should speak to a lawyer if you were injured with this or any other consumer product to find out whether your case is covered by a class action, or whether you should take further legal action.
